I’ve been away from the buzz for around 6 weeks. I truly needed it. Two reasons. Wedding and Honeymoon! On this topic I’m very excited to share with you some details about the Wedding. Let’s get started.

We need to go back in time to get some context. Kristina and I had a little holiday in the beautiful Switzerland in early November 2018. We took a morning train from Zurich to Engelberg via Luzern on Saturday 3rd November. Before 11 am we were in the town of Engelberg and few minutes later we went to the Mount Titlis, part of the Uri Alps. I planned to propose at 3,200 metres above the sea. My plan had some complications as Kristina suffered from altitude sickness so we had to go down to 2,000 metres. We got out of the cable car and walked around. I thought I needed to be quickly and propose before she had another fainting situation due to the altitude. I managed to be fast. Moment of truth. She said yes. Oh, emotions kicked off and we knew from that point in time we’d be thinking of the next step after our engagement.

Of course, we wanted to enjoy the engagement process as much as defining the date for the wedding day. Some months later in February we travelled to the stunning Argentina and we decided on 22nd February 2019 that 22nd February 2020 would be the day to celebrate the special event with our families and friends coming from various continents. We also liked very much the combination of numbers “22.02.2020”. A 12-month-save-the-date for our guests was good enough and for us too as we needed 3 trips in total (Feb 19’, Sep 19’ and Feb 20’) to prepare properly while following up remotely. Win-to-win plan.

Now that you have the context, let’s focus on the Wedding. We arrived to Buenos Aires on 3rd February 2020. This was 19 days before the big day. The first week was all about orientation. We had probably 90% of the wedding planned so it was about the details. However, these details in addition to all guests landing from many different countries across the globe represented an exponential amount of time as we were getting close to the big day. On the week of the 10th February, we started to feel the heat. A bit of panic here and there about the weather forecast, timing, transportation, multimedia, accommodation, wedding dance and any other topics you can imagine if you already had your big day. Perhaps for us it was very intense as we both were our own wedding planners to host people coming from Canada, United States, Mexico, England, Germany, Lithuania in addition to the local people from Argentina. We were not just Bride and Groom but also Wedding Planners, Tourism Advisors, Currency Exchange Bureau, Reservation Desk and many other things. I won’t lie, it was a bit stressful but this was what a destination wedding would take and we felt honoured to have guests from so many places in the world. Adrenaline was high and we embraced it as this was making us feel alive. The week of 17th February was probably one of the most intense ones I had in my life. We wanted it to be perfect and still “too much” left to do. We felt like in the Olympics. Sort of competing with Usain Bolt in a 100 metres sprint. Time was running out and still stuff to get done. The last day we spent it rehearsing and refining some details. That’s it. The big day was coming. I’ll leave you guys the Instagram link below so you can see a teaser of that day.
